Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)
1. Question:
Do these tracks have only accompaniment or do they also have demonstration versions?
Answer
1. Do these tracks have only accompaniment or do they also have demonstration versions?Yes, our tracks do include a demonstration version. (Our previews are typically 90-second segments of the "demo track" so potential singers can check the key, style, etc.) The "demo track" allows you to hear whether it's "sing verse 1 then chorus or repeat chorus, then repeat verse 1 orkey change and repeat chorus." For the $5.99 "Downloadable" version, you will be able to download a "demo track" MP3 that has a singer as an example AND download an "accompaniment track" MP3 that doesn't have the singer, so that you can sing with it. If you'd like, you could instead select the "Audio CD" version for $8.99 (plus shipping and handling) and we'll send you an audio CD with both the demo and accompaniment tracks. PLUS, if you order the "Audio CD", we'll still allow you to DOWNLOAD the two MP3 tracks for free, so you can start rehearsing now while waiting for the CD! 2. Do you provide the words for the songs? What about sheet music?I'm sorry, but at this time, the demo track is all we have to offer. Unfortunately, acquiring a license to publish the lyrics and music to a song is much more complicated than acquiring the license for recording a song. We currently do not have such licenses and don't see including lyrics in the near future. Maybe it will come eventually, though! Many of our customers just listen to the demo track and learn the words from that. To check the lyrics, others use internet lyric sites such as http://www.todayschristianmusic.com/lyrics.htm and http://songbook.manueladam.com . Apparently, those sites have acquired those licenses. (We aren't endorsing them--just pointing them out.) There are probably others--you can try an Internet search. Also, if your church has a CCLI license with the correct level of membership, you (or somebody at your church) can get the lyrics to many songs at http://www.ccli.com/SongSelect/index.cfm . 3. Are these tracks available in multiple keys? Some tracks are available in a choice of keys. When ordering such a track, you may choose which key you want. To keep the licensing costs down, only one key is available per downloadable purchase or per Audio CD purchase. You should use the previews to decide whether a key is right for you. We hope to expand the number of tracks with key choices. If you need a particular key that isn't available, please be sure to contact us and let us know so we can tell the artists about your needs. 4. I wanted to buy a track, and I was wondering how much the shipping and handling costs would be?We sell two types of products: "Downloadables" and "Audio CDs." Shipping and handling for "Downloadables" is absolutely free! (We let the computers take care of that!) For "Audio CDs," there are three options for shipping any CDs ordered:
Orders for multiple CDs receive discounts on shipping and handling. The discounts vary based on the type of shipping, the number of CDs ordered and packaging constraints. As an example, two CDs at each of three shipping methods are:
When you're checking out, the discounted total shipping and handling will be shown for each shipping option, so you can make an educated decision. We can only ship to the United States at this time. (You are welcome to download to all other locations.) By the way, all "Audio CD" track purchases include FREE, immediate, downloading so you can start rehearsing right away! ( You do not need to order both the "Downloadable" and the "Audio CD" to get your free download.) 5. If I am the only one who has requested or voted for a song, how long does it take for it to be done? The number of votes is a factor for our artists' selection of their next track to record, but not exclusively. We supply the request information to artists (and encourage that they take advantage of it). We also supply feedback related to various industry and site trends. Each artist, of course, has their own specialities and preferences which guide their song selections. It is possible that an artist will be inspired by your suggestion and record your track, even if it collected just one vote. However, in general, we have so many requests that the artists don't usually record songs with only a few votes. But, remember, you won't be able to get more votes for your request if you don't submit it! Give the community a chance to endorse your request by putting it in the request board. 6. I tried to purchase a track, but your site won't accept my credit card. What's the problem? We're sorry for the frustration of having trouble using your card. Here are some ideas to get the problem figured out:
Again, we want to work it out-- let us know if you're having trouble. 7. I placed an order for an audio CD to be shipped to me, but the invoice page said that I had to download my music within 1 day. I didn't want downloadable music. What's going on?Everything's probably fine. We offer free downloads to Audio CD purchasers, so that they can rehearse using their computer (if they wish) while waiting on the CDs. You don't have to worry about downloading anything, if you don't want the downloadable formats, also. Your CDs will be shipped, either way. If you want to double-check, look at your invoice copy. If you were charged shipping, your order does contain Audio CDs. If all the tracks that you wanted to be shipped to you as Audio CDs have product codes that end in "-CD", you've ordered them correctly. They should be shipped to you shortly. 8. Why do I get the message "This download has expired or is invalid?"Why do I get the message "This download has expired or is invalid?"A download link is only good for a few days. We usually recommend that it be downloaded the day it's purchased. If you were unable to successfully download the file during that time period or you believe that you are receiving it in error, contact Any Tracks Service with an explanation of the problem. 9. I'm having trouble downloading the MP3. Any suggestions? Here's a checklist of steps. There is a large variety of computer makes, models, mice, operating systems, etc., so some of these steps may be different on your computer. You may have to adapt them.
When it's all done downloading, but it doesn't seem to work with your player or CD burner, on some systems you can do the following check where the file is saved. We want to help you work it out-- let us know if you're having trouble. 10. The "Save as type" options include "MPEG Audio", but not "MP3 Audio". How do I get an MP3 file?On some systems, the installed software doesn't create a file type for MP3 files, e.g., "MP3 Audio". In the "Save As..." box, try picking "All Files" and then, before you hit "Save", in the Filename box, add the ".MP3" to the filename yourself. We want to help you work it out-- let us know if you're having trouble. 11. How do I sing with a track after I download it?After you download the track to the hard drive of your computer, there are a couple of ways that you can use the track. If you own a CD burner, just open your CD burner software and follow their instructions for recording an AUDIO CD. Find the place on your hard drive where you saved the track file (it will be in MP3 format). Then use that file as your source for the CD. At that point you can take the CD and use it just like any Audio CD that you buy in a store. Of course, you didn't have to get out of your pajamas. Although dress for worship is becoming increasingly informal at some churches, we recommend changing clothes before singing the song in church. :-) If you own a MP3 player (hardware) then you can attach the MP3 to your computer and load it off the hard drive onto the player. Then you can take the MP3 player to where you are performing. 12. Why is there an added cost if I ask to have it shipped on CD?In order to reach our goal of ANY TRACK, we burn each AUDIO CD individually as a custom CD. The added cost is to cover mailing and the time and expense of burning the AUDIO CD for you. We hope to soon offer the service of burning more than one song to a CD. 13. Can I really get any track on your site?In our saner moments, we like to call ourselves the AnyTracks Project. In other words, we know that offering every song in the world is "an impossible dream". But, hey, who said we can't dream? Just use the request board to request the song for which you need a track. Or vote for a track you already see requested. Our company doesn't actually make the tracks, we just get your request out there so recording artists can see it to make a track. The more votes for a track, the more likely it will get done soon. The more tracks purchased, the more recording artists we will attract. The more recording artists we attract, the wider choices for you, the more tracks purchased, and on and on. So to answer your question, it's really up to you and your friends as to how fast the "dream" will become a reality. Spread the word and keep spreading the Word! 14. What happened to the songs from Integrity Music on your site? (Above All, Shout To The Lord)Unique among the music copyright holders, Integrity Music has required us to use a long process with the Copyright office to get licenses for their songs. Since they have rejected our payment of licenses in advance, we've complied with their request to remove their songs while we begin that process. Hopefully, they will reconsider this unique position. 15. Do you have a phone number that I can call and talk to you?We are still in the opening stages of the project. We are planning on offering a full range of services, including a toll-free number, tracks in multiple ranges, and links to buy the original artists' CDs. And that's just for starters. Please feel free to email us with any suggestions or questions you have about the AnyTracks Project and this website.
